The See’n’Sound LE Menu
The “Create/Edit Session” button. Click to open the relative drawer. Use the “Audio files nr:” pop-up menu to set the number of audio files to be spatialised. Due to the particular nature of OpenAL library, you need to know in advance how many audio sources you will use in your session, and you will not be able to change this setting after clicking on the “OK” button in the bottom. Click on the “Import Movie” button to load a QuickTime movie. Click on one or more “file” button to load the previously set number of audio files. In the “Session length” area you can input the length of your soundscape. When you import a movie the length is fixed by default at the same length value of the movie itself. Click on the “Frame rate” pop-up menu to show a list of frame per second values. Click on the desired value to set it. When you import a movie the value is fixed by default at the same frame per second value of the movie itself.

Note: You must use QuickTime movies encoded at a a standard SMPTE frame rate for See’n’Sound LE to work correctly.

The black square area on the left is the 2D window. It shows the listener and the audio sources virtual positions in space. Click and drag any coloured sphere to change its position. Use the cursor at the right of 2D window to change the third hidden coordinate. The audio file assigned to the same color will be spatialised, simulating for it the same movement, or position, in the public’s listening space. If you perform those actions during playback, you automatically record the performed 3D trajectory. If you do the same operations when you are in stop at a particular frame, you change the position (X,Y and Z coordinates) of the sphere at that particular frame.
